November is National Adoption Month

The immeasurable and ongoing gifts of time and caring given by adoptive and foster families in El Paso County are greatly appreciated and deserve public thanks.

Here are some thoughts from those who work with adoptive and foster families.

Many different entities are part of foster care and adoption. This month is an opportunity to acknowledge adoptive families, foster parents, volunteers, mentors, policymakers, child welfare professionals, and other members of the community who are part of the process to find forever families for children and youth in foster care. The Department of Human Services is one agency of many dedicated entities, non-profits and individuals working together to protect children and strengthen families.
